Structural Welder - 2nd Shift

Understand and utilize applicable welding procedure specifications. Perform all welding duties in compliance with applicable welding codes. Emphasis on aesthetic appearance of welds and criticality of application are special considerations for this job. Understand and apply the applicable weld inspection criteria. Cut, grind, fit, and bend parts to fit weldments as required. Clean and deburr welds to satisfy customers and applicable weld codes. Work together with team members to assemble and weld large components. Perform testing and inspection of welds to meet applicable quality requirements. Perform weld rework to applicable weld codes. Perform weld repairs per accepted procedures. Salvage and rebuild parts as directed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires the use of complicated drawings, welding symbols, shop mathematics, weld shop tools, protractors, scales, squares, calipers, etc. Equivalent to four years of high school plus technical training in welding. Must pass any required tests associated with applicable standards, up to and including, but not limited to; AWS, ISO, MIL STD, International, ASNT. GMAW Certification or 3-5 years of equivalent experience. STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience welding large, heavy industrial equipment. Experience welding with stainless steel filler metal and associated equipment. PAY Hiring rate of pay is $26.13, once certified, hourly rate of pay is $31.76, with the capability of up to a hourly rate of pay of $32.91. 2nd shift premium: $0.70/per hour Oshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities. JOB SUMMARY The Welder will setup, tack, and perform all types of welding on all gauges of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Use special or general purpose fixtures, or improvise same, as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Cut and fit, heat and bend, perform weld repairs, salvage, rebuild parts as directed. • Work any position. • Parts vary in size, crane provided. • Clean welds as required. • Required to work with other personnel during assembly of large components. • Requires the use of fairly complicated drawings, advanced shop mathematics, handbook formulas, etc. PAY Hiring rate of pay is $24.21, once certified, hourly rate of pay is $30.08. Flash-Butt Welder

Job ID: 19038 Position Summary The Flash-Butt Welder is responsible for driving, operating, diagnosing, and maintaining a mobile electric flash-butt welding machine. Work includes driving a welding truck (CDL required) to and from work locations and setting the welding truck on the track. Pay Range: $35 / hour Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties • Will perform Intrack Welding functions. • Capable of performing job duties in a safe and professional manner. • Self-directed individual with the ability to supervise and lead a small group. • Responsible to report customer and production status in a professional and timely manner. • No prior welding experience is required. • Must have the ability to read precision instruments and gauges with a background in heavy mechanical/electrical machines and equipment. • Perform QA inspections as required. • Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Candidate will set up and perform weld operations including moving jack stands into place prior to making welds, cleaning and removing ballast rocks in the work area, vehicle maintenance, and cleaning, truck movement while on track from work site to work site, grinding welds as needed. • Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Required Skills and Qualifications • A valid class A driver's license and satisfactory driving record • Must be 21 years or older • Basic computer skills. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers. • Fill out and organize work reports • Must be able to travel 90% of time • Ability to pass drug screening and background check. High School Diploma/GED required. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions • Works both indoors and outdoors • Travels to field locations to provide repairs or maintenance • Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and handling of materials, equipment, and tools • Uses hands and fingers to operate equipment and tools involved in repairs • Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries heavy objects, machinery, and tools up to 50 pounds • Works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts • Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel • May be exposed to harsh weather conditions • May be exposed to loud noise.
