Job Title: Fabrication Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder who can interpret blueprints and drawings, take measurements to plan layouts and procedures, and determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. You will be responsible for setting up components for welding according to specifications, operating angle grinders to prepare parts, aligning components using calipers and rulers, and welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions. Additionally, you will repair machinery by welding pieces, inspect welded surfaces for flaws, and maintain equipment to ensure safety. Responsibilities • Interpret blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures. • Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. • Set up components for welding according to specifications. • Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding. • Align components using calipers and rulers, and clamp pieces. • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions. • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps. • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws. • Maintain equipment in a safe condition. • Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills • Fabrication and Welding skills. • Blueprint reading and inspection capabilities. • Proficiency with power tools. • 2+ years of welding experience. • 2+ years of experience with hand and power tools. • 1+ year of experience with welding blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Ability to carry 10-50 lbs frequently. • Ownership of personal welding equipment including gloves, face shield, and MMA (manual arc welding) tools. Work Environment This position operates on the first shift from 5 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Racine, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. The Fabricator/Welder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for fabricating and welding metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This role requires a skilled professional with expertise in metal fabrication techniques, welding processes, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in welding procedures and metalworking tools, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.
