We need reliable drivers and equipment operators to join our Roanoke Rapids crew. What you’ll do Drive a company truck from our Roanoke Rapids office to assigned solar farms (30‑90 min. each way) Operate commercial mowers (zero‑turn, stand‑on, walk‑behind) to manage vegetation under and around solar arrays Run heavy equipment as needed: panel‑washing machine, ~60 hp 4WD utility tractor with rotary cutter, back‑hoe, skid‑steer Perform basic maintenance—fueling, greasing, blade swaps, safety checks—report issues via mobile app (English/Spanish) Work longer daylight shifts in peak growing season and lighter schedules during cooler months Minimum Qualifications Valid North Carolina driver’s license and acceptable MVR Comfortable working outdoors for up to 10 hours in summer heat Willing to learn lawn‑care equipment or already experienced Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand/walk on uneven ground Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Equipment experience (let us know in the application) Commercial mower (zero‑turn / stand‑on / walk‑behind) Utility tractor + attachments (bush‑hog, loader, PTO tools) Back‑hoe or mini‑excavator Skid‑steer / compact track loader Solar‑panel washing machine Handheld lawn gear (trimmer, blower, sprayer, chainsaw) Pickup + equipment trailer (towing & backing) Pay & Perks Weekly direct deposit Seasonal bonus potential and paid downtime in slower months Clear career paths: CDL upgrade, mechanic apprenticeship, pesticide license sponsorship Important! Job Description The Solar Maintenance Technician is and entry-level position responsible for the safe, productive repairs and maintenance of Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. From performing preventative maintenance and inspections, to troubleshooting and making repairs to maximize production, the Solar Maintenance Technician gets to exercise a verity of skill sets and has constant opportunities to learn more. All while making an impact on our safe, reliable, clean energy future. This role will encompass performing the preventative and corrective maintenance on the solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters. Responsibilities • Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do • Conducting routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities • Willingness to learn the NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices • DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing • Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections • Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities including but not limited to: Single Axis trackers, Central or String Inverters, Transformers, AC and DC disconnects, Substation equipment • Maintaining company property such as vehicle, tools, meters and plant stock • Maintaining service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed • Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards Qualification Requirements • Familiarity with electrical systems and components • Proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks • Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately • Proficiency with MS Office suite • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight • Valid Driver’s License • Working knowledge and experience operating under OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B • OSHA 10 General Industry certificate • Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends Physical Requirements/Work Environment: • Work is to be performed outdoors at various job sites. • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
