We help deliver renewable energy solutions across North America, and currently have over 1.2GW of energy under management. We are seeking Field Technicians to assist in the successful maintenance of commercial solar systems in the United States. Candidates must have a background in electrical construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably in the renewable energy field. Responsible for learning the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used. Assemble, install, or maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in compliance with site assessment and schematics. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. Also, operating machinery on site to avoid Health & Safety issues and to provide maximum generation. This position reports to the area supervisor or other senior management personnel that may be designated. Travelling to a small handful of sites will be required. Responsibilities - • Support and assist in the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment such as inverters, combiner boxes, switchgear, transformers, voltage regulators, electrical protective devices, main and auxiliary generators, metering systems and battery support systems. • Ensure safe work practices and company safety programs and policies relative to the installation and maintenance of these systems. • Install and maintain electrical service equipment, wiring, and conduit required for the proper functioning of solar PV systems. • Assist in job safety and overall crew support including staging materials, general site work support, as well as site preparation and clean up. • Provide regular updates of job status, and complete necessary paperwork daily. • Assist and work with others as needed. • Comfortable working on ladders and tight spaces. • Perform quality control to identify hazards and defects. • Follow instructions, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Use appropriate hand tools (i.e. crescent wrench, pliers, hammer, screwdriver, etc.) and power tools (i.e. Drills, Impact Wrenches) to perform a variety of functions to install and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions. • Layout, assemble, and install solar modules, panels, or support structures, as specified. • Apply weather sealing to array, building, support mechanisms, or breaker box. • Identify and resolve any deficiencies in photovoltaic (PV) system installation or materials. • Install the required labels on solar system components and hardware. • Determine materials, equipment, and installation sequences necessary to maximize installation efficiency. • Activate photovoltaic (PV) systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations. • Compile or maintain records of system operation, performance, and maintenance. • Participate in all pre-job work planning and safety discussions. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards. • Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back-up alarms, the smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens). • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards. • Ability to understand and follow directions. • May Require Travel to other East Coast Projects Qualifications – • High School diploma. • 5+ years of experience working as a Solar Installer or equivalent combination of education and experience in a construction setting. • Experience in reading blueprints, plan sets, and/or technical drawings. • Mechanical aptitude and motivation to learn and follow directions • Working knowledge of the Solar Photovoltaic construction craft and the assembly, installation, or maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for ground installation. • Experience working with High Voltage. • Must be able to understand service and technical manuals. • Experience in evaluating information to determine compliance with standards. • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving, and drug screen. • Must possess a current and valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record. Solar Technician II

Position Summary: The Solar Technician II will be a mid-level field service technician for CSS’ operations and maintenance of solar facilities. The Solar Technician II is responsible for leading work, representing CSS in the field, and the safe and timely completion of all service obligations.
