The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, construction, and roofing, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for installing solar energy systems on residential and commercial properties while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations. Requirements • Install solar panels and associated equipment on rooftops and ground mounts. • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installations. • Perform electrical work including high-voltage and low-voltage connections in accordance with NEC standards. • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and trenchers safely and effectively. • Conduct fixture installations and ensure all components are securely mounted. • Collaborate with team members on construction sites to complete projects efficiently. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following all safety protocols. • Troubleshoot issues that arise during installation or testing phases. • Must have reliable transportation and solid communication skills. This position requires demonstrated experience in Solar PV development and the design of commercial systems. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with Project Development Managers and Design Engineers to provide project support for development, design, and cost estimation activities. • Conduct site surveys to assess and document site dimensions, electrical systems, PV array location and utility interconnection options. • Gather key project technical data such as site structure and electrical drawings and site electricity load data and costs. • Prepare preliminary PV system designs using software such as Helioscope or Solesca. • Prepare Solar PV site plans and basic electrical one-line diagrams in Auto CAD as part of 30% designs. • Perform system energy modeling and energy estimates using software estimating tools such as PV SYST and SAM. • Prepare project budgets interacting with equipment vendors, contractors and consultants. • Support the preparation and submission of utility interconnection applications and permits, as required. • Assist Project Development Managers with technical aspects and drawings for proposals, contracts, and customer presentations. • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices and codes. • Foster effective and positive business relationships with all parties. • Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering discipline. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in residential or commercial Solar PV and/or Energy Storage development. • Demonstrated experience in a generally related construction development process including project development, design and engineering, and construction of energy generation projects. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, Helioscope (or Solesca) and PV SYST. • Basic understanding of NEC and other applicable codes pertaining to commercial Solar PV.
