Mechanic – Utility Trucks & Equipment

Custom Truck One Source “CTOS” 5065 140th Ave NW, Williston, ND 58801 (Hwy 2 & Hwy 85) Based in Kansas City, Missouri with 40 plus locations across the USA & Canada. CTOS designs, assembles, sells, rents, and services trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment. Our clients include some of the largest utilities, telecom, construction, forestry, oil, and rail companies in the nation. Summary: You will work on CTOS Rental and Customer equipment including aerial cranes, bucket trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, conveyors, digger derricks, pressure diggers, and aerial lifts and more. Load King, TEREX, Manitowoc, Elliott, National Cranes. • PMs, maintenance and repair on truck-mounted utility equipment such as Boom, Bucket, Diggers, Dump, Service, Forestry and aerial cranes and other truck mounted equipment. • Technicians work on the truck diesel, chassis, hydraulics, diagnostics, electrical etc. • 7am – 4pm, Monday to Friday, Day - shift, with overtime as needed, limited Saturdays. • Must hold a valid driver’s license (Class B CDL a plus) • CTOS offers competitive pay based on experience, healthcare, 401K match, Vacation, Sick and Holiday pay, tool discount, Service Technician training program and more. Job Duties: • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment. • Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus. • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved. • Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company. • Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected. • Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment. • Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source. • Other duties as assigned. Basic Skills: • High school diploma or the equivalent • Experience with diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment. (construction, farm, military) • General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm, or truck • Computer skills and ability to document repair activity. Requirements: • Must hold a valid driver’s license. • Must have your own tools. • Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity. Routinely prepares the rig floor area for whatever operation is to take place as well as function checks all casing handling and running tools to enable carrying out operational activities. High School Diploma or Equivalent Previous oilfield experience preferred 4 to 4 years mechanical training on various tools \& equipment. General oilfield knowledge \& experience. Routine exposure to the elements, including working outdoors and in a non\-climate controlled building. Requires the ability to stand and walk more than 90% of the time. Requires the ability to use eyes to focus and judge depth perception up to 90% of the time. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, be able to climb and balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl more than 50% of the time. Must be able to lift, pull and push loads of up to 50 pounds unassisted. Maintain and prepare all equipment including tongs, CDS tool, slips, etc. Troubleshoot problems quickly and accurately. Repair tools and equipment as needed. If unsure of repair needed ask for direction. Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, including flexibility in schedule due to changing business needs. Maintain a neat and safe workspace. Identity safety hazards of mechanic shop \& make necessary corrections. Utilize computer for safety training and goal setting.
