Senior Mechanical Technician Location: Vineland, New Jersey Schedule: Full-time, Day Shifts (40 hours/week) Experience Required: 2–5 years commercial experience About the Role We are seeking a motivated Senior Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance, assembly, and operational readiness of mechanical systems within a fast-paced, high-standards technical environment. This role is ideal for someone who has already built a foundation of hands-on commercial experience and is looking to grow within a structured, supportive engineering team. Key Responsibilities • Perform mechanical assembly, installation, and routine maintenance of equipment and components. • Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs to ensure optimal system performance. • Support senior technicians and engineers during mechanical builds, upgrades, and testing activities. • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules. • Adhere to safety standards, procedures, and quality controls at all times. • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives relating to equipment reliability and workflow efficiency. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, QA, operations) to support daily operations. Required Experience & Skills • 7+ years of commercial mechanical technician experience (industrial, manufacturing, engineering services, or similar). • Solid understanding of mechanical components, tools, and maintenance techniques. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. • Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a practical environment. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe working practices. • Good communication and teamwork skills. Desirable (Not Essential) • Experience with precision mechanical assemblies. • Familiarity with quality control and documentation processes. • Exposure to cleanroom or controlled-environment work. • Basic understanding of electrical or mechatronics systems. POSITION SUMMARY: The Mechanical Operator is responsible for the assembly, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of mechanical machines and presses used in the production of precision products. This role requires strong mechanical skills to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent product quality. The Mechanical Operator works closely to diagnose and fix machine issues promptly. They are trained operators who focuses on mechanical assembly tasks and press operations, playing a key role in keeping production running smoothly. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving abilities are essential to succeed in this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assembles, sets up, and operates mechanical machines and presses used in production. • Troubleshoots mechanical issues on presses and related equipment to minimize downtime. • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical systems and presses. • Adjusts machine settings to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production flow. • Collaborates with maintenance and engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex equipment problems. • Monitors machine performance during production runs and makes necessary corrections. • Documents maintenance activities, repairs, and machine adjustments accurately. • Follows all safety, EHS, and quality guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. • Trains and supports operators on mechanical procedures and proper press operation. • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability and efficiency. • Assists in the installation and setup of new mechanical equipment and presses. • Ensures proper calibration and alignment of mechanical components during setup and maintenance. • Maintains a clean and organized work area, supporting overall facility housekeeping standards. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or GED required. • 1-3 years of experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical machines and presses, preferably in a manufacturing environment. • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of press operation and machine assembly. • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance (EHS, ISO) preferred. • Proven ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs efficiently. • Knowledge in Pneumatic and hydraulic functions a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
