Key Job Responsibilities: • Perform and/or supervise routine and breakdown inspection, repair, troubleshooting, modification, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, cryogenic pumps, gear drives, steam turbines, vessels, heat exchangers, reciprocating and centrifugal expanders in Air Products Operations facilities, joint ventures, subsidiaries, and third- party facilities. • Develop work scopes for equipment repair and overhaul. Prepare and provide technical reports. Enter information into CMMS system (SAP) to provide accurate documentation on equipment and information. • Provide the necessary technical leadership to continuously improve machinery condition and reliability. • Provide technical on-site and remote training and guidance to individual plant operating and maintenance personnel, facilitating their role as the primary equipment maintenance support. • Develop worn component refurbishment procedures and follow through on repairs and spare parts replacements based on Machinery Engineering recommendations. Location and Travel: Travel is primarily in the North subregion but could include some travel to other subregions. The selected candidate for this position is expected to respond to requirements on a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week basis. The position requires approximately 70%-75% travel away from home. This position is residence based. The successful candidate should reside within 1-hour of a major airport. Qualifications/Requirements • Minimum 5 years direct experience in maintenance, start-up, and commissioning of industrial rotating machinery and plant equipment. • High School diploma • Practical knowledge of machinery overhauls and refurbishment. • Good organizational skills, the ability to work alone if necessary, and the ability to lead a crew. • Supervisory skills/experience. • Demonstrated safe work skills. • Fundamental computer skills. • Ability to work extended hours and willing to travel on short notice. • Must be able to work in an industrial environment which includes lifting and climbing. • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces. Job Description Onin Staffing is looking to hire several Mechanical Specialists for a client in Dover, DE. Great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a prominent company! 3rd Shift: 10pm-6:30am BASIC RESPONSIBILITY In addition to the following, employees are responsible for understanding the relevance and importance of the individual’s activities in contributing to food safety, and reporting situations that may impact food. NATURE AND SCOPE To support all manufacturing areas by repairing, troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on all plant and processing related equipment and systems. JOB DUTIES • Reports to a maintenance supervisor and interacts with all hourly and salaried maintenance and production personnel. • Quickly and accurately troubleshoot major plant and processing equipment problems. • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance on plant and processing equipment. • Work with the maintenance supervisors in developing and implementing new ideas that will help drive improved productivity. • Ensure that all spare parts stocking levels are adequate to fully support all supported equipment. • Perform regular reviews of system performance, identifying problems and concerns and recommending and/or implementing technological changes to improve overall performance. • Position will be able to work on all mechanical jobs that have traditionally been performed by both the millwright and the pipe shop. They may be called to assist in the packaging areas as needed. • Prepares reports and any records as needed. Also uses CMMS (SAP) to create work orders and fill out PMs. • Fabricates, installs, maintains, repairs all types of processing, packaging and conveying equipment including but not limited to stands, motor bases, platforms, electric motors requiring rigging, handling, or alignment pertinent to the craft. • Installs and maintains pumps where due to their size Millwright skills such as rigging, and alignment is necessary. • Maintains building components such as doors, fences, walls, floors, loading and unloading facilities. Also maintains elevators, man lifts and hoist and air compressors. • Repairs, maintains, installs, and removes all types of equipment including, but not limited to, stone mills, pulverizer, refiners, hydraulic presses, fanners, misers, roasters, dryers, sifters, case elevators, depositors, vibrating feeders, bucket elevators and gear boxes. • Fabricates production and processing equipment from construction prints. Makes necessary calculations for pulley speed changes, gears and sprockets. Selects proper chain sizes, belts, pulleys, etc., related to repairs and/or replacements. • Installs and modifies complete production lines from layout prints and Engineering direction. • Utilizes Millwright shop practices and procedures and can apply them. • Installs and repairs pneumatic equipment that requires tools common to the craft • Uses all rigging equipment such as snatch blocks, chain falls, hoist ropes, cables, slings, dollies, comealongs, etc. • Perform bench layout work using scribes, dividers, parallels, etc., as related to the craft. • Installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems throughout the plant. This consists of steam and water lines, heating and cooling coils, product pipelines, air lines, hydraulic lines, sprinklers, filters, control valves, sewer lines and drains, etc. • Maintains process and fluid-type pumps, which includes clean-out, packing, gland replacement, couplings, and other minor repairs in the field. Also removes and replaces up to and including 3-inch size process and fluid type pumps. • Applies pipefitting theory such as pipe schedules, pipe threads, application of fittings and pressures when required. • Makes shop calculations for angles, bends, etc., for proper pipe sizes as influenced by flow and pressure requirements. • Operates and uses knowledgably all hand and power tools related to the craft such as power threaders, cut-off saws, drill presses, sewer cleaners, etc. • Performs hydrostatic and pressure tests as required on all plant fluid and vapor piping systems and vessels. • Actively participate in an aggressive self-development training program that will be designed to dramatically increase one’s technical proficiencies. • Performs all other duties as assigned.
