Mechanical Engineer Medford, OR 97501 Job Summary: This position is responsible for applying knowledge of engineering principles to design, develop and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment and machinery. May use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. May be involved with activities of fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. Works under immediate supervision and follows instructions and pre-established guidelines as defined by their supervisor. Essentials Duties and Responsibilities: • Researches and prepares specifications for purchase of design components, materials and equipment • Updates component models, drawings and bill of materials per Engineering Change Order/Request process • Conducts fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and documents design modifications as required • Initiates fabrication of test equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems • Supports fabrication, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements • Incorporates methods for maintenance and repair of components and designs, and develops test instrumentation and test procedures • Designs products such as instruments, controls, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes • Inspects completed installations and observes operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
