Job Title: Toolroom Technician Assistant This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Toolroom Technician Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining injection and blow molding tooling. The successful candidate will possess excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities: • Carry out entry-level preventative maintenance on molds and components. • Fit and assemble parts into complete mold assembly. • Verify dimensions and alignment of mold assembly. • Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, molds, and equipment, and test their operation to ensure functionality and performance. • Develop specifications from general descriptions and interpret sketches of parts or products to be fabricated. • Collaborate with production personnel, supervisors, other toolmakers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining. • Grind, file, and sand parts to fit parts for assembly and to polish smooth and finish cavities. • Read basic blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, or specifications to determine assembly, preventative maintenance requirements, dimensions, and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Choose, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs. • Calculate and set controls for routine machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. • Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications.
