Process Mechanical Engineer - Full-time

We are looking for a driven and curious Mechanical Engineer to work on water/wastewater projects in the Northwest and across the U.S. As a Process-Mechanical Engineer aligned to the Corvallis office, you will join a core group of wastewater and mechanical engineers and designers on studies, designs, and field assignments to deliver innovative solutions to challenging technical problems that our clients face. Your assignments will focus on water/wastewater projects but may also include broader process-mechanical engagements. You will be part of our collaborative team to provide the following services: • Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves. • Evaluation of process mechanical systems to determine the best approaches to solve client challenges • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems and solutions with clients • Planning and design for full-scale treatment systems and treatment plant improvements for construction • Development of facility layouts and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) • Development of construction documents, including drawings and specifications • Data analysis and computer modeling • Technical report writing • Bidding and permitting services support • Construction services support • Field inspection of treatment/mechanical equipment • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline • Professional Engineer (PE) license • A minimum of 8 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience with water, wastewater and/or industrial treatment, including planning, evaluations, and design • Educational emphasis and a strong interest in treatment and/or mechanical system design and operation • Self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ideally, you’ll have: • Master’s degree in related engineering discipline • 10 or more years of direct experience in municipal wastewater treatment or process mechanical for water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and conveyance systems experience • Hydraulic modeling skills (e.g. Fathom, Pipe-Flo) • Construction or facility operations experience • Active in relevant professional organizations • Working with and leading project teams and or managing projects • Experience working and communicating directly with clients • Located or willing to relocate near Corvallis, Oregon Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: NPI Manufacturing Engineer Job Description This role is instrumental in transforming robot designs into tangible products. The Manufacturing Engineer ensures that parts are easily and reliably manufacturable, sets up and refines assembly and testing processes, and resolves issues during early production. You will serve as a critical link between the design team and the factory floor, ensuring innovative ideas can be scaled effectively. Responsibilities • Collaborate with engineers to ensure ease of manufacturing for parts. • Establish and enhance assembly and testing processes for new components. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during early production stages. • Engage with PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) and coordinate with vendors on manufacturing and testing. • Define clear requirements for tests and board builds. • Focus on the mechanical aspects of assembly related to electrical components, particularly the 'charge dock'. • Set up work cells for electrical component handling and installation. • Participate in design reviews with the design team. • Assist with supplier quality when needed. • Split time between desk work and manufacturing floor activities. • Provide hands-on training to technicians. • Create detailed work instructions (WIs) and document them with photographs. • Utilize MES (Manufacturing Execution System), particularly VKS, for work instructions and managing non-conformances. Essential Skills • Experience in manufacturing engineering and electromechanical systems. • Knowledge in electromechanical design, assembly, and box build. • Proficiency in new product development and test development. • Deep understanding of PCBA, sensors, actuators, and mechanical integration. • Strong mechanical experience, including CNC machining, sheet metal, and injection molding. • Experience with MES, especially in creating work instructions and managing non-conformances. • Ability to prepare prototypes for mass production by creating instructions and testing processes. Skills & Qualifications Required • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Assembly (DFA), and Test. • Deep understanding of PCBA, sensors, actuators, and mechanical integration. • Proficiency in writing work instructions, process flows, and test procedures. • Experience managing BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ECOs (Engineering Change Orders). • Ability to lead pilot builds and line bring-up by setting up and validating new assembly lines. • Capability to analyze data using tools like SPC, Lean, and Six Sigma. • Experience collaborating with EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) and suppliers. • Support for reliability and environmental testing, such as thermal cycling and HALT. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic, with a 50/50 split between office work and being on the manufacturing floor. You will work closely with the manufacturing and production team, engaging in hands-on activities and problem-solving.
