The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Specialist (I) is to participate in mechanical application operations and aid in the maintenance/repair of equipment in a manner that meets company/client expectations and regulatory compliance. This team member fosters the SOLitude culture, value, and service performance standards. • Learn and conduct mechanical control applications • Observe and Identify aquatic plant species • Aid in the mobilization/demobilization of equipment • Assist in the staging of environmental control measures per project/permit requirements • Operate SOLitude and rental machinery effectively – watercraft, aquatic weed harvester, hydro-rake, loader, etc. • Log all appropriate project-specific information in Mechanical log book – dates, management areas, material collected, # of loads, etc. • Provide Project Coordinator with timely project progression updates • Aid in the training of new employees on operating/maintaining mechanical equipment in the field. • Support the Mechanical Division with maintaining/repairing equipment in a group setting • Log all maintenance and repair work performed on mechanical machinery in the affiliated log book • Submit all company authorized purchase receipts and work hours in an accurate, organized and timely fashion • Travel and lodge at various locations, project-specific What do you need? • High school diploma or GED • 1-2 years of experience in the mechanical application field • Comfortable with on-water equipment applications • Mechanically inclined • Self-motivated - Able to work independently or with a group • Organized and detail-oriented • Positive attitude • Trustworthy and reliable • Proficient at communicating • Open-minded to new ideas • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record • Ability to travel as needed • Complete licensing/certification programs as necessary (OSHA 10, Hoisting, etc.) • Must pass pre-employment background screen • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search Physical Demands and Work Environment: • The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear, and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and feel. • In addition to the base pay, a Colleague working in this role who has completed training may be eligible to earn additional monetary compensation including overtime, incentive and/or commission pay.
