Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for process design, operation and implementation. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes to increase efficiency, implement and improve ergonomics, design and install automation solutions, reduce costs, implement lean tools, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. Tasks and Responsibilities: • Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification • Work with Production and Plant Managers to assess and support existing processes • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste removal and cost reduction • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. • Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output • Perform time studies on current processes and analyze for improvement. • Perform process simulations, diagramming the flow, including inputs and outputs of business processes • Manage cost and time constraints • Identify opportunities for improvement • Develop and manage project plans for implementing improvements • Perform risk assessments using DFMEA/PFMEA or similar process(es) • Provide process documentation and standard work documents as processes are improved • Ensure operations comply with safety and quality standards Skills/Experience: • Proven work experience in manufacturing engineering • Experience in manufacturing continuous improvement environment: 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping • Excellent technical skills • Working knowledge of engineering software packages including AutoCAD/Autodesk Inventor • Familiarity with health and safety regulations • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills • BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline • Sheet metal experience is a plus

Secondary focus is to apply engineering concepts to safely optimize equipment, procedures, and departmental budgets to achieve better maintainability, reliability, and availability of equipment.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Essential Functions Specify, design, and manage the installation of capital projects to improve plant equipment and processes for increased productivity and reduced operating costs. Develop capital cost justifications to support improvements and modifications to ensure proper support for manufacturing processes. Responsible for developing, documenting, and improving preventive maintenance programs in order to support the improvement of equipment availability and throughput. Analyze repetitive equipment failures, identify root causes, make recommendations, implement corrective actions, and develop long term equipment reliability programs. Work in the CMMS system to continually improve PM effectiveness, accuracy, and frequency based off of Mean Time Between Failure and other KPIs.Provide technical assistant to Maintenance personnel during troubleshooting and equipment repair.Forecast spare parts requirements. Working with Tool Room to correlate min/max on parts by developing critical equipment list in CMMS, providing feedback from EM, PM, and CM parts usage, developing history on equipment and parts usage.Assess the need, timing, and cost for equipment upgrades, rebuilds, and replacements and make recommendations.Coordinate with other engineering resources, operations, maintenance personnel, and outside contractors to schedule and manage projects.Assists Maintenance Supervisor to plan, schedule, and supervise services internally for the Maintenance, Machine Shop, and Engineering departments, as well as procure outside contractors/vendors to maintain facility auxiliary systems, such as HVAC, Boilers, Propane/CNG systems, CO2 & Halon systems, emergency generators, and the Fire Protection system.Assists with maintaining the work order system and participate in safety, environmental, and ISO audits.Performs those administrative activities necessary, including provision for selection and development of employees' safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the plant. 1st Shift - Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, drives, electronic controls, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and various production machines and equipment. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations. Supervisory Responsibilities: • None. Duties/Responsibilities: • 5+ Years prior experience as an injection molding technician performing troubleshooting and repair of injection molding machines and plastic processing equipment • Maintenance experience with injection molding machines, molding robots, plastic processing equipment, and IMM operation • Knowledge and understanding of injection molding process • Maintenance experience with hydraulic systems • Experience with high and low voltage machine control system diagnostics and repair • Knowledge of blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems • Ability to troubleshoot problems systematically • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Dedicated team player with a positive attitude • Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: • Troubleshoots and repairs plastic injection molding machines and robots, including conducting tests and inspections on all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components. • Performs safety checks on equipment. • Capable of diagnosing problems with machine control systems and develop an organized approach to solving machine problems and repairs/replaces parts as required. • Communicates on an ongoing basis with supervisor, other departments, and maintenance department technicians to obtain answers to problems encountered with equipment. • Troubleshoots and repairs plastic injection molding machines and robots, including conducting tests and inspections on all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components. Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or GED Required • Industrial Maintenance Training/degree is a + Physical Requirements: • Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.). • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. • Requires manual dexterity. • Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment. • Frequently moves from waist level to floor level. 1st Shift (7am - 3:30pm)
