CNC Machinist

As a Machinist at Marten Machining, you will be involved in many manufacturing processes. Your number one responsibility will be setting up and operating CNC machines to produce parts meeting customer specifications. Machinists verify their work by completing in-process inspection measurements and utilizing support from our Quality department and Metrology Lab. Machinists take ownership of their steps in the production process and are entrusted with striving for continual improvement. Machinist - 2nd Shift

Roles Responsibilities: • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines (lathes, mills, drill presses) to cut and shape metal parts to specification. • Program and utilize CNC systems, including fixtures and tooling for various machines. • Calibrate standard measuring tools such as gauges, calipers, and other precision instruments. • Conduct inspections (first/last piece), complete production documentation including scrap sheets, logs, and quality reports. • Operate overhead cranes and lifting devices safely and efficiently. • Read and interpret blueprints, follow detailed work instructions, and use hand tools effectively. • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; perform routine machine maintenance. • Ensures the proper handling, packaging, and storage of hazardous material/waste generated • Use computers for data entry and production-related tasks. • Work overtime as required to meet production goals.
