This role demands precision, advanced multi-axis machining expertise. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment, producing complex components for critical industries, while helping maintain JR Machine's reputation for manufacturing excellence. Key Responsibilities • Setup and Operate DMG Mori NTX Machines Independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot DMG Mori NTX mill-turn machines to efficiently produce complex, high-tolerance parts. • Programming and Optimization Program using Fanuc controls (as applicable) and optimizing existing programs for improved efficiency and quality. • Tooling and Fixturing Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling and fixtures for a wide range of materials and part geometries. • Quality Assurance Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gages, CMMs, etc.) to ensure all parts meet exacting specifications. • Continuous Improvement Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine machining strategies, reduce setup times, and maximize machine utilization. • Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine machine maintenance and proactively address minor mechanical and control issues. • Training and Mentoring Share knowledge and provide guidance to less experienced machinists to elevate team capability.Required Skills and Qualifications • 5+ years’ CNC machining experience, preferably in a job-shop or precision component environment. • Demonstrated expertise with DMG Mori NTX mill-turn centers (or equivalent multi-axis machines). • Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC control systems (Fanuc). • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T. • High level of proficiency with precision measuring tools and quality control processes. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-mix environment. • Strong problem-solving skills and a mindset focused on precision and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications • Formal training in CNC machining or mechanical engineering. • Experience machining exotic materials (Inconel, titanium, etc.) and complex geometries. • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management standards.
