CNC Set Up Operator

CNC Set-Up Machinist (Lathe Operator) Pay: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience) Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shifts Available Location: Whitewater, WI About the Role We’re seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Machinist with strong lathe and tooling changeover skills to join a precision manufacturing team in Whitewater, WI. This role is ideal for a self-motivated machinist who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and operating advanced CNC turning centers. You’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes while ensuring parts are machined to exact specifications. Candidates with prior setup experience and a solid understanding of tooling and G/M-code programming are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC turning centers, including Miyano BNE, Miyano BNX, and Mori Seiki ZL-15 machines with bar feeders. • Build and install tools, adjust offsets, and perform changeovers efficiently. • Read, write, and revise G & M code programs as required. • Manufacture precision components, including deburring, gauging, and inspection. • Create or update setup sheets and documentation for repeat production runs. • Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools. • Troubleshoot tooling issues and maintain machine performance. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • 2+ years of CNC setup and operation experience (lathe experience preferred). • Strong understanding of metal cutting principles, tooling, and feeds/speeds. • Ability to read blueprints, job travelers, and inspection sheets. • Familiarity with G & M code programming. • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. • Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-conscious. Schedule • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM • Overtime available. 1st Shift Machine Operator

Spacesaver is currently recruiting for Machine Operators on 1st Shift. This position is full-time with a wage range starting at $20.00/hr. Responsibilities Include: • Operate assigned production equipment for the daily production of products, using shop orders and prints. • Experience operating Turrets, Punch Presses, Panel Benders, and Lasers.
