I. SUMMARY: Sets up and operates computer numerically controlled machines (CNC) to perform machining operations by performing the following duties. II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements. · Locate and down load programs from a storage system. · Interpret work instructions. · Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed. · Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of materials. · Employee must be able to set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring. · Understands capabilities of tooling and machinery. · Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections. · Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. · Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. · Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. · Maintains safe operations by adhering to all Innovative Hydraulics policies and procedures. · Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduced setup times and improve productivity. · Seek out, identify, and actively participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities. · Create and maintain a lean team focused work environment. CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

We’re seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our 2nd shift team operating a 5-axis boring mill within a union manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be able to perform full machine setups, make offsets and adjustments as needed, and safely use overhead cranes to load and unload large or heavy parts. This position follows a standard Monday–Thursday schedule. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate a 5-axis CNC boring mill to produce precision components per blueprints and specifications. • Perform complete setups, including tooling selection, fixturing, and machine offsets. • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to tight tolerances. • Load and unload large workpieces using overhead cranes safely and efficiently. • Make adjustments to programs or tooling as required to maintain quality and productivity. • Maintain equipment, tooling, and work area in a clean and safe condition. • Follow all safety procedures and comply with union and company policies. Qualifications: • 3+ years of CNC machining experience; experience with 5-axis boring mills preferred. • Strong understanding of setup, tooling, and precision measurement. • Comfortable operating overhead cranes and rigging heavy parts. • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T. • Willingness to work 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday with overtime on Friday as needed, in a union environment. • Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.
