To Apply for this Job Click Here POSITION SUMMARY: CNC Machinist – Mills • Hourly pay $25-$35 (OT option as well) with an extra $3 per hour if you are able to run 2 machines at the same time. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION Set up and machine precision parts to specifications with minimal assistance. This would be for a night shift position (2nd or 3rd shift) but would train on 1st shift. Please see the shifts below. 1st– Monday- Friday 7am-5pm 2nd – Sunday- Thursday 5pm-3am- extra $1/hour 3rd – Sunday- Thursday 9pm-7am- extra $1/hour OVERALL DUTIES · Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; troubleshooting; entering the tool and D-Comp offsets; M.D.I. · Understanding setup sheets, tool lists, and Operational Detail Sheets · Calculating Work Offsets (all axes) · Indicating and Edge Finding · Understanding program/D-Comps, part edge, and center path programming · Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. ‘Free State’ condition and part clamped maintaining free state) · Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments (eg. Microhead); spring pass; test cut bore; graduations on boring bar · Proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts · Preventive maintenance · 6-S Activities · Pre-start up inspections that incorporate Health & Safety Awareness · Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo) · Other duties as assigned · Adhering at all times to company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements CORE COMPETENCIES: · Ability to produce a high-quality part in a safe, productive, and efficient manner · Ability to interact with co-workers in a productive and positive manner EDUCATION Min. Gr. 12/High school completion or equivalent. Machinist certification or equivalent experience. SKILLS & ABILITIES • Ability to monitor machining process and recognize irregularities and react accordingly. • Able to proficiently indicate parts utilizing the machine spindle. • While using precision measuring devices measure and examine completed parts to verify the part conforms. • Ability to read and interpret drawings. • Basic Math skills • Possess good communication skills. • Able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, lift 40 pounds, and stand on feet for an extended period of time. Essential Function: Our machinist at Silfex are integral in making our high quality precision silicon components. As a machinist you will be responsible for safely setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce the highest quality parts and meet the customer expectations, in the most efficient manner. • Operate 3 to 5-axis CNC machine tools to accurately machine parts per work instructions and per manufacturing plan. • At all times utilize appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE.) (e.g., shoes, gloves, masks, etc.) to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses. • Perform quality inspections to ensure accurate production of parts throughout the process. • Handles parts and materials with great care as well as maintaining cleanliness of them to ensure quality of product and condition of equipment. • Proactively supports work of department and team by maintaining communication through Teams/ Email and participating in shift change meetings; demonstrating collaboration and problem-solving attributes. • Accurately record and interpret production information in PLEX such as verifying track numbers, substitute part revision, and machine down time, (etc.). • Utilize systems to document and review information, including maintenance dispatch, completed Preventative Maintenance, and document measurement scans. • Produces parts according to standards by utilizing production documentation, correctly loading, and unloading parts on machine, and verifying part orientation. • Strictly work instructions, setup sheets and other production related information. • Perform assigned preventative maintenance and maintain coolant lines and nozzle positioning. • Set up machines for production to ensure they’re operating correctly. • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. • Performs other job duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: • Certificate from Technical School or Trade School. • Knowledge of GD&T. • Experience machining Si, glass or other brittle material.
