KY Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Westen States is seeking a motivated Machine Operator for our climate-controlled facility in Erlanger, KY, just minutes from Cincinnati, OH! Western States is seeking a motivated Machine Operator for our climate-controlled facility in Erlanger, KY, just minutes from Cincinnati, OH! Machine Operators run envelope machines that fold and pack envelopes as they come off the machine. They also examine work orders to determine whether specifications have been met, as well as inspect product quality according to established quality guidelines, pack envelopes uniformly and neatly, and keep up with machine speeds. This role will perform both duties. You'll have 80 hours (10 days) of paid vacation available in your first year, plus sick time off, and 72 hours of paid holiday time (9 days). SHIFTS AVAILABLE 2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 3:00am Mon-Thu. WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE? • Operate envelope folding machines, maintaining optimal speed and efficiency. • Examine work orders to understand specifications and verify samples. • Inspect product quality against established guidelines. • Maintain accurate counts of envelopes for boxes, cartons, and skids. • Load die-cut paper stacks onto the machine feed. • Monitor production runs to ensure accurate labeling, printing, and packaging. • Assist with clearing paper jams and performing scheduled preventative maintenance. • Accurately record labor, time, and quantity data. • Perform machine clean-ups and other cleaning duties. QUALIFICATIONS SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS • Basic Math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals are required. • Strong attention to detail and quality. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Mechanical aptitude is a plus. • Prior machine operation experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate! PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior Manufacturing experience is preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to stand for approximate duration of scheduled shift (minus paid breaks), lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent, twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bend, reach, crouch, or stoop. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
