CNC Lathe Machinist- 3rd shift

Summary The CNC Lathe Machinist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products that meet their specifications. Primary Responsibilities: • Set up CNC Lathe machines to run production as needed • Troubleshoot problems during CNC production to minimize non-conformances. • When problems rise, notify the superior (Cell Lead) • Use calipers, mics, indicators while performing setups to ensure machines and fixtures are set correctly • Use basic math skills to determine and conduct tool offsets • Read CMM reports generated from parts that were ran through production to ensure quality standards and specs are being met • Dress and set tools for the CNC machines • Operate multiple machines • Perform Daily 5S (Cleaning) • Conduct daily machine visual inspections and ensure coolant levels are adequate. • Other duties as requested. Qualifications: knowledge: Basic reading and math skills (minimum of 8th grade level) GED or High School Diploma required, and 1 to 3 years in Manufacturing Experience. Abilities: Manufacturing Quality, Controls and Instrumentation, Mechanical Inspection Tools. Skills: Decision Making, Problem Solving, Job Knowledge, understands copy exact requirements, experience with OSHA compliance. Working at our Beavercreek Site: GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating. Role Overview: • Set up, operate, edit, and program a variety of computerized machines, such as Furnaces, Lasers, Robots, Coherent General (8-Axis), Presses and/or Benders to customers’ specifications and drawing requirements. • Test new tooling and/or dies and makes recommendations for modifications. • Perform regular preventative maintenance and ensure tools are accurately calibrated prior to use • Operate machine(s) in a prescribed safe manner. • Train and work with all areas of the Cell to run other processes as needed. • Will use a computer daily (checking email, viewing/downloading shop drawings and instructions) The Ideal Candidate: • Education or experience in programming and operations in programmable controllers • Team Player and willing to operate in a professional environment • Takes Pride in the work they are doing • Excellent attendance and punctuality history and availability to work overtime as needed • Able to work effectively when receiving general supervision (This involves performing routine assignments alone.) • Able to carry out operations according to set procedures or sequences. • Makes decisions based on experience & available data • Strives to meet or exceed job requirements • Ability to receive and act on constructive feedback Required Qualifications: • High School graduate or equivalent • A minimum of six months experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Technical Trades, or equivalent relevant work history Preferred Qualifications: • Understanding or ability to learn the use of measuring gauges such as manual calipers and micrometers. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints • Ability to exert 10 pounds of force frequently. Summary As a Grinder Operator of QQE, you will assist with receiving raw material, cutting material to length, and loading parts of various shapes and sizes into the machine. In addition, the grinder operator will interface with automation ensuring processes and completed parts meet customer specifications.
