Machinist/Operator

Job Purpose Machine Operators are responsible for operating machinery in the department to meet daily goals and safety standards. • Essential Duties and Responsibilities* • Operates a block machine, loader/unloader, crawler/transfer car, killn, cuber, wrapper, palletizer, splitter, batching computer, color system, tumbler and tumbling cuber. • Follow all LOTO policies and procedures, and ensure the team does as well • Produce high quality units by following strict manufacturing S.O.P’s per Company standards. • Recognize all internal and ASTM quality standards. • Able to perform light electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair. • Have an understanding of INFOR and entering production into a scanner or computer. • Able to train and coach others • Maintain a clean work environment • Complete daily paperwork • Communicate any issues with equipment • Follow any other instructions, and perform any other related duties, as assigned by supervisor. • Education, Knowledge, and Skills* • Electrical knowledge • Able to use a multimeter • Able to read a tape measure/depth gauge • Mechanical aptitude • Troubleshooting ability • Ability to read and understand English Hours: 6:00pm - 6:00am Monday - Friday Training to be given on 1st shift Starting at $20.00 depending on experience (+ night differential) Supervisory Responsibilities: Able to lead a team Work Environment: Exposure to noise, fumes, dust, and hot and cold temperatures while in manufacturing facilities. • Physical Demands: *Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 80 pounds requiring repetitive hand movement, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. CNC Machinist (2nd shift)

CNC Machinist Using your experience, set up and prove out programs on 4 or 5 axis CNC milling machines and machining centers to machine complex parts from various metals and composites to meet the tight tolerances required in the aerospace and defense industries. CNC Machine Operator

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR DEPARTMENT: Machining REPORTS TO: Production Manager PURPOSE: The machine operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control and/or manual machines to machine parts. The machine operator loads parts in the machine, cycle’s machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment. This position covers all machine operators at Faxon Machining. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs all assigned machine shop operations • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee • Follows tag system, quality procedures and completes all relevant in-process inspection forms • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures • Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results • Completes and maintains paperwork for parts • Understand all blueprint/operation drawing features before cutting chips • Understands job quotas established in router or as instructed • Ensure all gages used are calibrated and in good working order • Use of overhead crane for loading and unloading parts into machine • Perform general maintenance on machine such as changing coolant, oils and other lubricants • Carry out all other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent or 5-7 years experience as a CNC Machine Operator • Mechanical aptitude • Willing to learn to become proficient in operating applicable equipment • Good attitude • Quality oriented WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
