The Role • Mechanical knowledge is essential for this position. • You should be able to machine parts from prints and samples. • A tolerance of +/-0.005 is required for this role. • You must work accurately in a timely manner and maintain a well-organized workspace. • Proficiency in surface grinder operation, milling machines with digital read out, lathe operations, and CNC milling machining operations is necessary. • You should be able to read all machinist-measuring tools and write/read CNC conversational machine code. • Able to perform duties un-supervised in a professional, timely manner and communicate effectively in English. Requirements • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. • At least 2 years of experience as a machinist or completion of a machine shop trade school is necessary. • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is required. • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Capability to work to extremely close tolerances is essential. • Able to work overtime including Saturdays as required. • Stand and walk continuously for 8 hours if necessary. • Climb stairs and ladders. • Lift and carry 50 pounds. • Able to operate forklifts and aerial lift equipment.
