Assessing the value, importance, quality of parts material and or processes. Stay up to date on technology and applying new knowledge to your job. Program numerically controlled machine tool or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate quality products and determine product dimensions and tolerances. Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machining work. Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter. Confer with Sr Machinist regularly ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly, and output will meet specifications. Perform in-process inspection using standard measurement equipment. Accurately complete process paperwork, as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications – External/internal: 8-10 years of machining experience. Ability to work under minimal direction. Good verbal and written communication skills. Handling, installing, positioning, moving/manipulating materials. Performing physical activities that require frequent activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
