The Lead CNC Machining Technician provides technical guidance and leadership to CNC operators and serves as a liaison between the team and management. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate CNC machining activities to meet production schedules. • Assign tasks and monitor performance of CNC operators. • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines including mills and lathes. • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders. • Conduct first-piece inspections and ensure product quality. • Train and mentor new and existing team members. • Maintain a safe and organized work environment. • Perform routine maintenance and report equipment issues. • Conduct and lead daily Gemba walks and meetings to promote continuous improvement and team engagement. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams. • Fill in for Supervisor as needed, including decision-making and team oversight. Required Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 5+ years of CNC machining experience • Proficiency in CNC machine setup, operation, and G-code programming. • Strong understanding of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (valid certification preferred). • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle, etc.) for inventory and shipping transactions. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Understanding and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations and safety practices and procedures. • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
