CNC Machinist

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join a leading Company located in Durham. NC. The CNC Programmer/ Operator is responsible for creating and modifying parts using specialized software. Work with engineers to design and plan the production process and use their programming knowledge to create code that controls the tools and machines used to create the end product. Read and interpret blueprints and translate the product design. Concurrent to this, the position also entails CNC lathe machine operation. Job Responsibilities: • Create code that directs CNC machines to produce precise parts. • Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine necessary tool paths and cutting speeds. • Test programs and troubleshoot any issues. • Collaborates with other departments, such as design and engineering, to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of parts. • Maintain and update software and hardware as needed. • Monitor production runs and adjusts programming as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency. • Documents programming and maintains records for future reference. • Operate CNC lathe machine. • Quality inspections of finish product. • Cleans and maintains assembly equipment. • Follows safety and quality standards, as well as company policies and procedures. • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively and independently. • Proven ability to problem solve and trouble shoot. • High level of commitment and flexibility to work in a fast-paced and consistently changing environment. • Willingness and resilience to meet the physical demands of the position. • Engineering Team, Supply Chain Team, Quality Inspectors & Health Safety Environment Manager, CNC Operators, and Operations Manager. Machine Operator Technician

Timmons Fabrications is seeking a Machine Operator Technician at its Durham, NC facility. Timmons Fabrications manufactures precision sheet metal components for a wide range of industries across America. Typical tasks include: • Reading and interpreting product mechanical drawings • Examining mechanical drawings for errors and missing information • Verifying dimension and tolerance specifications, material type, material finish, correct hardware application, accurate hole size and placement, etc. • Reviewing and confirming proper machine setup prior to production runs • Documenting machine setup procedures and changes • Ensuring product is error-free through all stages of manufacturing • Developing a detailed familiarity with all product types • Perform regular inspections of products and machinery • Collaborating with the Shop Lead to diagnose, document, and correct manufacturing errors • Recognize and communicate potential efficiencies to increase throughput Applicants must be able to: • Read and understand mechanical drawings • Learn and understand how to program various metalworking machines • Follow safety guidelines • Communicate clearly • Perform basic arithmetic • Use measurement instruments such as tape measures, rulers, calipers, and micrometer • Read and use fractions • Lift up to 25 pounds • Stand and walk for extended periods • Use basic hand tools • Brake press and CNC punch press experience is a plus Located just 10 minutes from downtown Durham, Timmons Fabrications is proud to be locally owned and operated for over 35 years. CNC Specialist-2nd Shift

We are growing!! Come join a great team. Set up and operate all machines within the assigned area to produce quality parts. Maintain tolerance, dimensions, concentricity, and surface finishes as specified on drawings and/or the sales order. Inspect work frequently according to sound machining practices and established procedures during and upon completion of machining operations to ensure quality parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Select proper tools, tool holders, holding devices, etc. to assure proper setup and machine operation, center bars as required. Work from drawings, route sheets, specifications etc. to assure proper setup and machine operations. Use all micrometers and measuring instruments required to produce quality parts. Also, make any calculations required to setup and operate equipment properly. Produce parts according to sound machining practices and established inspection procedures. Make minor adjustments to G-Code Program and/or tooling setup as required to assure product quality and safe operation of equipment. Education And Experience Requirements: Shop Trade Knowledge/Education with a High School diploma or equivalent. The basic knowledge or “scholastic content” essential as background or training preliminary to learning the job. (As an example: A CNC job would require an individual to have some CNC knowledge/education, while a non-CNC job would require an individual to have some machining knowledge/education.) Drawings/Specs The reading and comprehension of drawings/specifications and/or written instructions. Measuring Instruments The correct reading and recording of measuring instruments that are required in the job. Shop Math The required mathematical abilities to perform the necessary functions of the job. Knowledge of theory and Practice. The basic understanding or knowledge of the required theory and practices needed to perform the job. Demonstrated Ability A level of demonstrated ability needed to be able to perform all of the above functions of the job.
