Accentuate Staffing is assisting a growing manufacturer in Raleigh who is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join their machine shop as a Manual Machinist. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to learn, and grow in a skilled trade. This is a direct hire opportunity, offering competitive benefits, working 6:30am-3pm Monday-Friday. SUMMARY: Sets up computerized numerically controlled machine tools and related equipment for machining operations. Participates in problem-solving activities and contributes to quality improvements. DESCRIPTION: • Works from drawings, blueprints, job layouts, or other written specifications, determine feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences. • Set up and inspect the first article part on any proven program and turn it in for Quality Assurance verification at an 80% approval rate. • Change cutting tools and location of workpieces during the machining process. • Installs cutting tools and various work-holding devices to handle the size of stock to be machined. • Operates and adjusts machines until parts produced conform with specifications and time standards. • Makes necessary adjustments to set-ups during the course of operations to maintain accurate production. • Responsible for completeness of secondary setups. • Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions. • Detects and reports significant variances in job standards. • Upon completion of the “First Article of Verification” trains and monitors the work of the operator assigned to that machine. • Run multiple CNC machines. • Performs secondary operations as defined by the traveler, using various machines/tools such as files, drill presses, and sanders. • Assists operators on which dimensions to inspect, (proper tools and gauges). • Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process. • Responsible for the cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company. • Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management/Maintenance. • Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • 1 to 3 years of CNC setup experience. • 1 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment. • Mandatory 4th-axis machining experience. • Understanding of and experience with offsets and adjusting them. • Understanding of and experience with the G52 line in the CNC program. • Experience with edge finder and dial indicator. • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is a must. • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators. A Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:30 am - 4:00 pm B Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:30 am C Shift: Friday - Sunday, 5:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday, 5:00 am - 10:30 am PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Continuous mental and visual attention is required. Requires constant alertness or activity. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally required to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Machinist I (2nd Shift)

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The purpose of this position is to assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts by operating mechanical equipment and assembles parts into sub-units or complete units. Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics and layout techniques: • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools. • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks. • May install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. • May operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts. May develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be fabricated. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Must have a high school education or GED. Work Experience: Six years of experience with at least two years of experience on Cat or other similar equipment Physical: Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs. Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 62 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts. Other: Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders. Must have cognitive reasoning and problem solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems.
