SmartFlow Technologies, a manufacturer of filtration systems in Sanford NC, has a first shift opening for an experienced machinist. The company’s need for machining is growing and a key highly skilled - long term Machinist is scheduled to retire in the near term. The company’s intention is to bring in a strong replacement Machinist to program, fixture, determine set points and required tooling in in addition to performing some production machining in the short term. The company intends to expand its equipment base and bring in machine operators to handle the production volume. This is a position with growth opportunity. The candidate should be familiar with lathes, manual mills, and CNC machining centers. Specific equipment in plant: • (1) CNC machining center (Trak-TMC10) • (1) CNC lathe (Haas SL20) • (1) Manual mill (Bridgeport) The ideal candidate will have a model shop background and be familiar with the machinist’s handbook. Programming is a plus and not a job requirement but the ability and desire to learn is necessary, (Engineering can support the Machinist as needed).
