Pay: $22/hr Schedule: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri • schedule may be flexible* What you’ll be doing: • Setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines, including water jet and plasma tables. • Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to ensure products meet design requirements. • Programming CNC software, such as CAD/CAM programs, to create precise cutting paths. • Safely loading and unloading heavy materials onto cutting tables using equipment like forklifts and overhead cranes. • Inspecting finished parts with precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met. • Troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance to keep machines running efficiently. Due to our significant growth Broadwind Industrial Solutions is seeking a skilled HAAS Machinist with experience in 2-axis machining and conversational programming to join our team in Sanford, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and programming HAAS CNC lathes, be detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality parts in a fast-paced environment. The Machinist will operate and maintain lathe and milling machines and review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. The Machinist takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping and selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Set-up, adjust and operate machine to run recurring projects according to project prints. This also requires set up of parts on machining work area. • Ability to read and understand machining print symbols necessary. • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as tape measure and calipers. • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. • Ability to safely operate overhead crane and forklift equipment. • Work a horizontal saw as needed. • Keep a clean and orderly work area. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. • All other duties as assigned. Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications: • High school diploma or equivalent.Two-year technical degree in Machining or an equivalent amount of machinist experience. Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability: • Ability to read blueprints. • Strong attention to detail. • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and navigate ERP systems and efficiently enter information in the system. • Good command of the English language both written and verbal. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands. • Ability to read, write and follow established methods and procedures. • Ability to perform simple shop math. • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes). • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis. • Perform work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
