lnnophos Inc., a leading international producer of specialty ingredient solutions is hiring a Machinist for our Nashville facility. Must be skillful in the use of a variety of metal machining tools and precision measuring devices to cut, grind, or otherwise shape metal and plastic parts into conformance with specified dimensions. The employee is required to understand and interpret blueprints, sketches, or other descriptions of parts to be fabricated, and to select materials and plan the sequence of operations to be performed in accordance with accepted methods and standards of the machinist and mechanical maintenance trades. Key Responsibilities • Follow all company, plant and craft safety procedures and methods and operate machines in accordance with manufacturer's instructions • Ensure shop safety and housekeeping at all times • Work from blueprints, sketches or other documentation to set up and operate machining tools, such as lathes, milling machines, presses, drills, etc. • Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are the latest revision, prior to work commencing • Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work-pieces using appropriate measuring devices such as Micrometers, Vernier, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, etc. • Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and work-pieces • Monitor the feed and speed of conventional lathes and milling machines • Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications with close tolerances • Measure, examine, and test completed machined parts for defects • Smooth the surfaces of parts of equipment • Using hand and power tools disassemble pumps, fans, gearboxes, power transmission, and other equipment to determine failure and means of repair.
