CNC Programmer

1. Position Summary The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for precision machining operations. This position supports both production and quality objectives by ensuring parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. The role also provides technical assistance to operators, engineering, and quality personnel to improve manufacturing processes, reduce scrap, and maintain consistent quality. 2. Key Responsibilities • Develop and revise CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software. • Work closely with setup personnel and machinists to ensure programs are efficient and practical for production. • Verify part conformity through first article inspections (FAI) and assist Quality in identifying and resolving dimensional or process issues. • Support engineering activities by reviewing drawings, creating setup sheets, and assisting with process documentation. • Participate in process improvement initiatives, tooling optimization, and cost reduction efforts. • Collaborate with Quality to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on nonconforming parts. • Maintain revision control of programs and associated documentation. • Assist with the development and maintenance of work instructions, job travelers, and inspection checklists. • Provide technical training and support to machinists and operators. • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standards. 3. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or apprenticeship preferred. • Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience (mills and/or lathes). • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, or similar). • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining processes. • Ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries. • Basic understanding of quality inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.). • Ability to collaborate with Quality and Engineering personnel effectively. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy. 4. Physical & Work Environment • Work performed in a precision machining environment. • Regular standing, walking, and use of hands for machining tools and computers. • Must adhere to all safety and quality policies. 5.
