2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator - Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team. (3:00pm - 11:30pm Monday - Friday.) The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts according to customer specifications. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings and strong attention to detail. The CNC Operator will ensure that production goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards. Responsibilities • Operate CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings • Measure part dimensions with a micrometer, calipers, and various gages • Record quality inspections, debur parts and some hand finishing • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and quality of output • Adjust tooling for minor offsets • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards Requirements • Must be a US Citizen, or legal alien • Must be 18 years of age, or older • High school diploma or equivalent • Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing facility • Strong mechanical aptitude • Ability to operate (or quickly learn to operate) logic controllers and other factory machinery effectively • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Must not have had any felony convictions in the last 10 years Custom Tool is a Tennessee Drug Free Workplace. Candidates must pass a drug test if offered a position. This is a 2nd shift position 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday - Friday. Must be available first 2-3 weeks for orientation 7:00am - 3:30pm. CNC Machinist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Uses tools and dies to build fixtures; creates dies as required to construct new fixtures. • Repairs dies, molds, and tools when needed; disassembles molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired. • Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts. • Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create designs and/or turn designs into blueprints. • Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality. • Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently. • Modifies machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications. • Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace. • Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment. • Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. • Thorough understanding of metallic properties. • Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists. • Proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE • Successful completion of an apprentice program with a licensed professional or established company required. • On-the job training available. • Tool and diemaker certification required.
