Job Title: Fabrication Maintenance Technician Department: TP)Facility Technology Team Shift: Nights 545pm-6am or Days 545am-6pm, 2-2-3 fixed schedule (Shift placement will be based on position availability) Direct Report: Unit Manager About the Machinist Position We are looking for an experienced Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machine tools (lathes, grinders, millers, plasma cutters, CNC and drilling machines to produce precision parts. Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools and mechanical instruments or maintain industrial machines by applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures. Machinist responsibilities are: • Perform all work safely and according to company standards • The primary role of the machinist is to repair or machine new production machinery parts from stock materials • Production machinery parts includes shafts, rollers, gears, pins, keyways and other precision parts as needed • When not working on production machinery breakdown jobs the machinist should conduct planned work as assigned by leadership • Must have the ability to read blue prints in order to manufacture the requested part • Must measure and check their work before releasing the part back to manufacturing to reduce rework and time. Parts must be machines to meet the drawings tolerances and dimensions • Majority of work will be done alone and unsupervised in the machine shop. You should also work well with other team members on collaborations • This role will transition into a 2/2/3 rotating weekend schedule of 12 hours per day • The ability to weld is an advantage • Regular attendance is an essential function of the position • Perform other duties as assigned. Operators are responsible for operation of all equipment and production of PVC pipe. It is also frequently necessary to stand, bend, squat, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull equipment.
