Job Title: Machining Operator Classification: Non-exempt Department: Casting Reports to: Machining Shift Lead Purpose: Monitors a set of automated CNC machining lines to produce aluminum alloy billets for forging presses. General Duties: • Material handling requiring use of forklift and overhead crane • Ensure quality is maintained • Make offset adjustments if necessary • Fill out required production documents • Changeovers • Maintain clean/organized work area • Performs other duties as required Skills: • Able to work both independently and as a team • Basic troubleshooting and problem solving • Able to quickly identify nonstandard situations and respond accordingly • Able to use measuring devices such as calipers Requirements: • High school degree or GED equivalency. • Basic mechanical aptitude • Must be willing to work a (4 Star) 12-hour shifts (willing to work every other weekend and some holidays). Shifts are either 5:00 AM to 5:10 PM or 5:00 PM to 5:10 PM • Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods, to include but not limited to: lifting, walking, standing, stooping, pulling, and pushing • Willing to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations; including wearing personal protective equipment • Must work safely at all times • Willing to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy industrial environment • Willing to work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances • Able to use a computer for basic reporting and documentation • Good interpersonal skills • Good communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally • Able to accurately use basic math • Molten metal experience strongly preferred Job Title: Machining Operator (Material Handling) Purpose: The Material Handler provides support in the Casting department transporting materials to the production lines, taking finished materials to the next location, and transporting materials to the warehouse. General Duties: • Safe operation of forklift activity. • Putting away material to appropriate location. • Material handling various materials to and from the production lines. • Perform inventory counts. • Maintain 5S activity in warehouse • Performs other duties as required Skills: • Strong verbal and written communication. • Excellent problem solving and time management. • Ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment. • Ability to work with minimal supervision when required.
