Machinist

Education and Work Experience: Experience in manual machining, using end-mill and lathe Experience in equipment installation and allignment Experience with GTAW and FCAW welding processes Experience with steel fabrication and fitting Required Skills: • Must be familiar with machinist tools, equipment and how to properly use them. • Must be precise, efficient and able to pay close attention to details while machining, laying out and cutting parts. • The ability to follow written and verbal directions • Must be self-motivated • Ability to maintain a clean work environment • Respect and adhere to all legal confidentiality agreements with Applied Chemical Technology and associated clients. • Ability to maintain an effective, courteous, and tactful relationship with other employees and clients. • Must be willing to travel when needed • Willingness to be trained at other shop responsibilities. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Must be familiar with machinist tools, equipment and how to properly use them. • Operate machine tools, including end mills, vertical and horizontal lathes and other power tools • Ability to assemble and align purchased and fabricated mechanical components and equipment including motors, shafts, and bearings • Familiar with machinist hand tools, including dial indicators, calipers, and other hand tools Job Duties: Will include, but not be limited to the following: • Machine parts • Layout, rough cut materials using saw, torch, etc. • Fabricate flanges, layout holes • Rough polish material • Clean machine shop area • Train to use other shop equipment (weld – mig etc…) • Physical Demands: As necessary to carry out essential duties and responsibilities, requiring: • As necessary to carry out essential duties and responsibilities requiring lifting and /or handling sheets of metal, • pipes and equipment of 70lbs. • Requires some reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, walking, hearing, reading, and seeing. • Must be able to coordinate the use of both hands to perform tasks. • Must be able to work in heat. • Must be able to drive vehicles and other equipment such as lift trucks.
