Machinist

This role is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role requires attention to detail and willingness to learn. The role requires strict adherence to safety guidelines such as wearing PPE, maintaining a clean work area. This position is essential to meeting production schedules while maintaining a safe, accident-free workplace. Must at all times support and promote the company Vision, Mission and Values, using UPSCALE as the foundation. • Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment to produce parts within specified tolerances. • Conduct first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs • Maintain documentation of inspection data. • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. • Reports issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor. • Follow all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE (eye protection, hearing protection, gloves if necessary). • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure safety standards are met. • Follow lockout/tagout procedures during machine maintenance or setup. • Participate in safety training sessions and safety audits as required. • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in machining or manufacturing preferred WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings and CNC programs • Knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniques preferred • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge. • Basic math skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more). • Ability to bend, twist and reach • Ability to lift and handle materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, with assistance if needed. • Manual dexterity to operate machinery and handle tools. • Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) for precise measurements and inspections. • Ability to work in a noisy environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
