Description Manufacture implants and instruments at an introductory level. Key Responsibilities • Operate CNC machines with minimal assistance. • Work from written instructions; (Work Instructions) • Be able to adjust offsets to maintain dimensional integrity. • Ability to inspect own work with minimal assistance. • Meet production standards and quality expectations. • Ability to document results accurately. • Understand and follow GMP procedures as applicable to job duties. • Understand and follow all departmental SOP’s. Document and report any process deviations to team leader. • Understand and comply with all department safety policies and procedures. • Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards. • Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary. • Any other duties as assigned by Team Leader Skills, Knowledge and Experience Education: • High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: • Able to read blueprints. • Strong math skills • Able to use basic inspection tools, calipers, mics, etc • Some manufacturing experience. Position Overview We’re seeking a CNC Model Maker & Production Machinist to join our expanding team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for programming and operating CNC machines, developing production processes, and contributing to ongoing innovation efforts in 3D printing, automation, and precision metrology. This position is ideal for a technically skilled, creative individual who thrives in a small, fast-paced environment where problem-solving, craftsmanship, and initiative are valued. Key Responsibilities Machining & Production • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes) to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. • Adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling to optimize quality and efficiency. • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to enhance manufacturability and workflow. • Engage in prototype and short-run production as well as larger batch runs. Quality & Inspection • Operate CMM and other precision measurement equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy. • Record inspection results and perform process checks to maintain quality standards. • Support corrective action efforts and continuous improvement initiatives. Innovation & Development • Participate in integrating new technologies such as 3D printing, automation, and laser cutting into operations. • Contribute to process development that enables consistent, scalable production. • Engage lean enterprise and GMP practices to enhance safety and performance. Shop Operations & Maintenance • Perform basic maintenance on CNC machines, 3D printers, and measurement equipment. • Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling. • Support 5S and shop organization initiatives. Qualifications • Proven experience as a CNC machinist, operator, or model maker, or strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to train in CNC operations. • Proficiency with Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD/CAM software required. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and G-code programs. • Familiarity with CMM inspection and metrology tools is a plus. • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to quality. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a dynamic, evolving manufacturing environment. • Experience with shipping, receiving, or inventory management is advantageous.
