CNC Machinist / Programmer

Description: You will be the CNC Machinist / Programmer for the Engineering & Prototype Laboratory (EPL) facility at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (LMMFC). Our team provides Engineering & Fabrication support for the Research & Development (R&D) teams, and we're looking for a skilled and ambitious CNC Machinist to join our team. What You Will Be Doing As the CNC Machinist / Programmer, you will be responsible for working in a 'Build to Print' Machining environment, utilizing Drawings and 3D Models to develop the Fabrication process and generate NC Code using a CAD/CAM system. You will machine complex experimental, developmental, and prototype hardware and assemblies, and will be responsible for planning, tooling, work holding, fabricating fixtures, NC programming, and measuring machined hardware. Your responsibilities will include: Working independently and collaboratively with other Machinists and the EPL Staff Engineering team Utilizing Drawings and 3D Models to develop the Fabrication process and generate NC Code Machining complex hardware and assemblies on Multi Axis Mills, Lathes, and MillTurns Planning, tooling, work holding, fabricating fixtures, NC programming, and measuring machined hardware Ensuring parts and assemblies conform to all Engineering requirements Why Join Us We're looking for a talented and motivated CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our team. Basic Qualifications: Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow skillsets and knowledge. Familiarity with CNC controls using EIA and Conversational programming including Mazak and HAAS. Familiarity with CAM Software, the usage of or the computer skills to be able to learn how to utilize the software efficiently. Familiarity with EIA G & M Code programming. Familiarity with general Milling & Turning techniques. Cutting Tool and Holder knowledge and selection experience. Familiarity with Speeds and Feeds for Machining Aluminum. Experience with the use of Calipers, Micrometers and Indicators. Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hand Tool use experience. Experience working in a Machine Shop environment. Due to facility requirements, all candidates must be U.S. Citizens Desired Skills: Technical Training & Certification in Machining from a Vocational or Trade School. 2 to 5 years experience working in a Job Shop Machining environment. HAAS or Mazak 3 to 5 Axis CNC Machine & Control experience. CAM Programming Experience. Thorough understanding of Tool and Cutter Selections and the proper Machining Techniques to use for Efficient Machining operations. Use of general Shop equipment such as Band Saws, Drills, Grinders etc. Manual (Mill & Lathe) Machining Experience Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
