CNC Machinist/Operator - No experience necessary

Special Tool Solutions is now hiring for all CNC manufacturing positions. The following positions are available: • Entry Level CNC Machinist –No experience necessary - starting pay $17/ hour • CNC Machinists – w/ two years of experience - Starting wages $20/ hour • Senior CNC Machinist – w/ set up and programming knowledge, compensation depends on experience We have two shifts available - days and nights. Day shift is Monday - Thursday 7AM - 4:15PM and Friday 7AM - 12PM. Night shift is four, 10 hours shifts - working hours are Monday - Thursday. 4:00PM - 2:30AM with periodic overtime available for both shifts. Due to the type of goods we manufacture you must: • Be a US Citizen • Pass a drug test Due to the type of goods we manufacture you cannot: • Have a felony conviction. • Have a misdemeanor in the past 7 years for the following: drug possession (includes drug paraphernalia), domestic violence or any crime is which a firearm was used. Outside Machinist

Job Description Are you seeking a job that provides top benefits and career longevity? The Mechanic performs a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving deck machinery, engine room work, general dock, rudders, shafting, propeller work, and testing. The Mechanic will have general knowledge of equipment operation for assembly, installation and testing that may include; records work performed and follows specified safety policies and procedures. As an Outside Machinist, you will: • Perform a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving deck machinery, engine room work, general dock, rudders, shafting, propeller work, and testing. • Use knowledge of equipment operation for assembly, installation and testing. • Perform valve and pump repair and overhaul. • Repair ship components using blueprints, sketches and sample parts. • Work with rudders, shafts, propellers and deck machinery. • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery. Required Education, Experience, & Skills • Required Education, Experience and Skills • High School Diploma or GED • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form • Able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals • Know how to measure using a scale and tape measure • Read, understand, and interpret advanced blueprints to preform task required • Use of measuring devices (rulers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth mics, scales, etc.), hand tools, and power tools • Ability to read and interpret blueprints • Trained in all annual NAVSEA Standard Items • Must be able to obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System "DBIDS" access card. Machinist (Manual or CNC)

Overview & Responsibilities To perform setups and machine a variety of components on a variety of machine tools. Able to perform work in a safe and timely manner to meet customer needs. Ability to work very close tolerances. Ability to layout and plan machining operations from prints, sketches or verbal instructions with limited supervision. The below reflects general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that may be inherent in the job. Responsibilities: • Promotes safety and quality at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Conducts him or herself in a professional manner at all times when working with internal and external customers. • Advanced knowledge of machine equipment and machining operations of various machines: horizontal and vertical lathes, layout machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, grinders, deburring tools, fixtures, radial and angular drill press, forklifts, cranes and various forms of rigging, jib hoists, personal computers, and other required tools necessary to perform the job. • Advanced knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required tools necessary to perform the job. • Full understanding of use for tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation to perform the primary function of the job. • Performs most complex setups and machine tool operations. This includes turning, boring, facing, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, sawing, slotting, grooving, grinding, and other required actions to complete the job. • Ability to work to extremely close tolerances. • Ability to read and comprehend drawings, sketches, job scopes, and verbal instructions. • Maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements and notifying the appropriate representative for troubleshooting and repairs. • Able to accurately measure and record all dimensional inspections as needed and pass annual dimensional inspection tests. • Ability to complete layouts of most parts. • Ability to train other employees in operation of equipment, reading prints, selection of tooling and machining equipment, along with repair processes. • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. • Accepts ownership over work performance and stays abreast of job knowledge and new skill development.
