Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • A minimum of two years’ experience of related experience required. • A background in commercial or military aircraft manufacturing/repair/installation is preferred. • Trade school graduate with 1+ year of CNC lathe machine operation experience.
See More Details >>POSITION SUMMARY Performs setup, calibration, maintenance and operations on a variety of machining equipment including lathes, grinders, milling machines, and hydraulic presses to assemble and/or disassemble and repair components. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Assemble, disassemble, and repair components for hydraulic cylinder repair. • Operate lathe and mill saws. • Maintain equipment. • Able to read drawings to manufacture needed parts. • Knowledge and use of calibration equipment. • Adhere to standard operating procedures including quality, safety and environmental. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS – SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience should demonstrate proficiencies in the following areas: • Ability to understand the proper use of hand tools. • Knowledge of lifting devices. • Ability to setup tooling and equipment for assigned jobs. • Ability to follow written and oral procedures. • Work within established safety and quality standards. Responsibilities: • Promotes safety and quality at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Conducts him or herself in a professional manner at all times when working with internal and external customers. • Advanced knowledge of machine equipment and machining operations of various machines: horizontal and vertical lathes, layout machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, grinders, deburring tools, fixtures, radial and angular drill press, forklifts, cranes and various forms of rigging, jib hoists, personal computers, and other required tools necessary to perform the job. • Advanced knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required tools necessary to perform the job. • Full understanding of use for tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation to perform the primary function of the job. • Performs most complex setups and machine tool operations. This includes turning, boring, facing, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, sawing, slotting, grooving, grinding, and other required actions to complete the job. • Ability to work to extremely close tolerances. • Ability to read and comprehend drawings, sketches, job scopes, and verbal instructions. • Maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements and notifying the appropriate representative for troubleshooting and repairs. • Able to accurately measure and record all dimensional inspections as needed and pass annual dimensional inspection tests. • Ability to complete layouts of most parts. • Ability to train other employees in operation of equipment, reading prints, selection of tooling and machining equipment, along with repair processes. • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. • Accepts ownership over work performance and stays abreast of job knowledge and new skill development.
