CNC Machinist I

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS: • Operation of CNC Lathe. • Collection and data entry of production tracking into company computers. • Setup Haas bar feed • Setup Haas bar chuck • Operate Hass dual spindle efficiently. • Inspection of product. • Packaging product. • Cleaning/De-burring of product. • Other machine operations. • Troubleshoot machining problems. • Minor program editing. • Operation of forklift. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. • Duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS • CNC Program Editing-Some experience preferred. • CNC Set-up. -Some experience preferred. • General machine operation. • General quality systems. • General inspection practices. • Visual inspection. • Ability to read blueprints/part prints. LANGUAGE SKILLS • Comprehend, communicate, follow, and instruct oral and written instructions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of experience in CNC Machining as per noted job functions and qualifications with responsibility for inspecting their product; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, solve simple equations and calculate percentages. Ability to convert fractions in increments of 1/16 and convert to decimal number. The CNC Machinist for ProMach’s HMC division contributes to the success of the company by manufacturing parts according to drawings, maintaining raw material inventory in accordance with inventory control policies, and maintaining machinery through proper preventative maintenance. Are you passionate about this work? • Operating & Programming Haas CNC mill and lathe machines safely and productively • Ability to do your own set ups and produce quality parts from drawings with minimal supervision. • Plans machining by studying detailed/complex blueprints and work orders; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD & T) • Download/edits programs by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches. Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry; proving part programs. • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first run part and sample work pieces. • Partner with engineering on R & D projects • Maintain Quality Control through inspections • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly What’s in it for you? Job Overview: We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience with Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software and Microsoft Excel. Duties: • Setup appropriate machinery per job specifications ensuring safety, quality and appropriately applying lean strategies. • Required to log into jobs and record production data. This includes closing open work orders and whipping orders to finished goods for shipping. • Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances. • Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpieces, using hand tools and measuring devices. • Set stops on machine beds, change dies, and adjust components, such as rams or power presses, when making multiple or successive passes. • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. • Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material. • Responsible for machine changeover and appropriate material setup. • Examine work area at beginning and ending of each shift and during any machine changeover for safety and proper operations. • Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. • Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. • Safely and efficiently prepares material for shipping. This includes proper identification, tagging and wrapping. • Required to be a team player and collaborate with various departments to meet customer satisfaction.
