ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Preparing the machine for efficient operation by ensuring the use of appropriate tools and making sure the tools that are used are functional • Read and interpret blueprints and understand part tolerances per print specifications. • Identify material types and thicknesses associated to work orders. • Safely handle materials. • Perform proper start-up and shutdown of machining centers. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS • Experience with CNC machine operation preferred but not required. • Must be able to use basic hand tools, calipers, micrometers, grinders, etc. • Ability to work overtime, off shifts, and weekends as needed. • Troubleshoot program, offset, and condition setting and adjust for corrections preferred but not required. • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, part tolerances, and print specifications.

The Machine Operator will monitor and control the continuous flow of product thru the production process, from mixing ingredients to oven baking to product packaging. The Machine Operator will adjust control panel settings as needed. Collaborate with team members, maintenance, and supervisors to maintain a safe work environment and adhering to Crown Bakeries GMPs and established procedures. Responsibilities • Operate assigned machinery in a safe and efficient manner. • Equipment may include Oven systems, Mixer Equipment, Proofers, Laminators, Boilers, Slicers, Packaging and/or Bagging Machines. • Maintains and adjusts freezer-retard temperature and sets timer to required setting. • Monitors the process to ensure continues bakery product process flow through conveyor systems. • Will operate various PLC panels to control proper flow of product. • Troubleshoots process and makes speed adjustments. • Document weight, product yield, downtime and additional metrics. • Collaborates with the in-line Mixer to ensure continues product flow. • Adjusts ensuring product standards, specifications, and customer requirements are met. • Read and work with technology to monitor machine functions. • Notify the Lead or Supervisor of any equipment problems immediately. • Must be able to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments. • Proficient at routine preventative maintenance as well as changeovers. • Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. • Attends all company training sessions. • Perform other duties as assigned. Food Safety Responsibilities • Follow all GMP's, Food Defense and quality policies as outlined by Crown Bakeries • Ensures all GMP and all food hygiene and safety standards are in compliance • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen or magnet deviancies', glass breakage, and pest harborage. Qualifications • Flexible work schedule including start times and weekend work. • Good verbal, written, and mathematical skills. • Willing to acquire a wide variety of skills to assist the surrounding team and fully understand the baking processes. • Patience is necessary to maintain and facilitate a series of continuous events. • Must be able to problem solve, learn on the fly, process, and technical learning. • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently • Preferred experience in food manufacturing setting. • Knowledge of baking processes, equipment, and terminology is desired Work Environment • Work in a noisy environment. • Work indoors. • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. • Work in wet and/or humid conditions. • Work in cold or hot environments. • Work around machinery.
