Salary Range: $18.00 – $35.00 per hour PURPOSE/FUNCTION/SUMMARY (TRAINING NEEDS) Set up and operate CNC machines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Verifies that all product produced meets customer specifications and is in accordance with Company quality standards. • Performs set-up and operates vertical or horizontal CNC Mills or CNC Lathes. • Operates variety of machines when needed. • Reads blueprints and gages. • Works with tight tolerances. • Knowledge of GD&T. • Ability to perform set-ups for long and short term production. • Ability to analyze job orders, blueprints, specification and design data to calculate dimension, tool selection and machine speed. • Work with more complex tooling. • Provides assistance to co-workers as needed, in the spirit of teamwork, with the goal of meeting or exceeding customer requirements. • Supports and promotes a team environment. • Meets or exceeds all production and quality standards. • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Conduct all set-up and quality operations in support of machining for self and others. • Setup vertical, horizontal, or lathe CNC machine(s). • Inspect own parts following in-process inspection requirements with hand tools (calipers, micrometer, drop gauge, pin gauge, height gage, indicator). • Follow through on required paperwork (job travelers, in-process inspection, red tags). • Communicate issues with dimensions to upper level supervisors and/or QC inspector (prevent non-conformance from re-occurring). • Operate machines in accordance with process sheets and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.). • Create, edit and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute. • Use manufacturing paperwork (travelers, blueprints, sketches, etc) to: manufacture product that meets quality requirements. • Inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection. If non-conforming, process via non-conforming material procedures. • Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work. • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). • Able to do offset, compensations, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
