Description: 2nd Shift Position: 3pm-11pm M-F JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY: To operate CNC production machines and ensure that manufactured parts meet all quality and print specifications, supporting efficient and accurate production. The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and overseeing production machinery, verifying part compliance with engineering drawings, and maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. This role also fosters a positive team environment by demonstrating integrity, encouraging collaboration, and promoting accountability throughout daily operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate CNC machines efficiently, including setting up tooling, checking inserts, making offsets, and deburring finished parts. • Manufacture components accurately according to engineering prints and specifications. • Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure parts meet required standards. • Accurately document quality data and production metrics for reporting and continuous improvement. • Support preventive maintenance efforts by performing routine checks on CNC machines and promptly informing maintenance staff of any potential issues or abnormalities to help minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies. • Review production schedules, prioritize tasks, and prepare equipment and materials for daily operations. • Conduct light corrective maintenance on machinery to address minor issues promptly. • Safely handle materials and components throughout the production process. • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the development and implementation of new fixturing and tooling solutions. COMPETENCIES: • CNC Programming Proficiency Demonstrates a solid understanding of both Mazatrol and G-code programming languages, with the ability to interpret, edit, and troubleshoot as needed. • Blueprint Reading & Interpretation Accurately reads and interprets engineering drawings, part specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). • Precision Measurement & Gauging Effectively uses standard inspection tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and height stands to verify part conformity. • Quality & Compliance Awareness Maintains a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and ISO quality system requirements, supporting consistent adherence to standards. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: • Experienced in safely handling and loading parts exceeding 500 pounds using overhead cranes or hoists. • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties. • Able to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and consistency. • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards. CNC Operator/Set-up
