Description: Primary Functions Produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, performing a standard series of progressive machining operations to close and exacting tolerances. Changes tools and assists with or performs standard set-ups. Duties and Overall Responsibilities • Following detailed instructions, operates CNC and other machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are proved and setups made and maintained by others • Drilling, boring, milling, turning and balancing, as required • Working from detailed process instructions • Using precision measuring instruments or limit gauges to check machine positioning • Inspecting your own work for quality • Meeting rate for each part, while maintaining quality • Maintaining a clean work environment • Taking responsibility for equipment care and basic maintenance • Assisting other operators as needed • Recognizing own capabilities and taking initiative to continually improve • Performing other duties as assigned Physical Requirements The physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50 pounds.
