Machinist reports primarily to the Machine Shop Supervisor, and indirectly to the Production Supervisor. Machinist may be assigned to any of the following job functions: WHAT YOU’LL DO: • Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines. • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. • Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. • Selects appropriate machine and setting for a given task. • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment. • Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary. • Maintains inventory of completed products. • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects. • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs. • Maintains a safe and clean workstation. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred • Experience: Drill press, lathe, mill, band saw: Preferred; additional onsite training! • Computer Skills: None specifically required. • Certifications & Licenses: None specifically required. • Other Requirements: Knowledge of piping materials (visual and descriptions); must be able to be on feet for full shift; lift up to 50 pounds; pushing/pulling objects up to 100 pounds; must be able to wear a respirator. CNC Machine Operator

EOE Job Description: The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for performing various machine tool operations to produce machined parts of standard and custom products as manufactured by Moline Machinery. This position is for an individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team setting. Key Responsibilities: • Requires setting up and operating various machine shop tools, including both numerical control (CNC) and manual machine tools. • Read and interpret simple to moderately complex technical drawings and specifications. • Ensure quality control standards are maintained, including the use of precision measuring tools and instruments. • Assist in making jigs and fixtures necessary to fabricate parts. • Modify, design, or create CNC programs using programming software and G & M codes as directed. • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. • Work with Engineering and Production teams to modify pats and drawings as required. • Perform other related duties as assigned, based on skills and capabilities. Qualifications: • Associate degree in machine technology or related field, or equivalent work experience. • 0-3 years of related experience in a machine shop environment. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Experience with CNC programming software (CAD/CAM) and a willingness to learn new software. • Familiar with both CNC-controlled and manual machine tools. • Ability to perform machine tool maintenance as needed. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: • Work is performed on the shop floor. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. • Frequent use of the phone and computer. • High attention to detail is required. • Occasional travel may be necessary.
