Requirements: Key Responsibilities • Evaluate parts and determine machining requirements. • Select appropriate tooling and manufacturing methods. • Program CNC 3/4/5 axis machines. • Operate manual equipment (saws, lathes, grinders, sanders). • Set up tooling and fixturing as needed. • Design fixtures, jaws, and inspection gauges. • Run production jobs from single pieces to high-volume batches. • Inspect dimensions at the machine and collaborate with quality teams. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications • Associate’s degree in Machine Tool Technology or 1+ years machining experience. • Proficiency in Mastercam and/or Surfcam preferred. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T. • Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook). • Technical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Experience with measuring equipment; CMM knowledge a plus. • Forklift experience a plus. CNC Machinist II (2nd Shift)

Position Summary The role of a CNC Machinist II is to perform intermediate to complex machining and programming activities in line with company capabilities. This position has attained full proficiency as a CNC Machinist I and can successfully apply CNC principles, procedures, and setups unique to the company to execute machining strategies. Enthusiasm to further develop machining skills and the ability to demonstrate problem solving skills is crucial for success. Essential Functions • Perform intermediate to complex machining and programming activities in line with company capabilities, including: • Read and interpret prints, specification sheets, and/or 3D files to determine program strategy. • Select appropriate machine based on project specifications. • Properly locate, open and save 3D files associated with project, post program to a machine using network links. • Program parts using 2D and/or 3D toolpaths using Surfcam or Mastercam on mill and/or lathe; modify existing programs to enhance efficiency. • Select the proper cutting tools needed to machine parts based on part geometry. • Design custom fixtures for work holding as needed. • Calculate cutting speeds and feeds and the depth of cuts based on material and work holding. • Select and prepare raw materials for machining. • Setup and operate multiple machines to perform milling and/or lathe activities. • Perform dimensional and visual inspection of parts per specifications using basic measuring equipment. • Track individual labor time using ERP system. • Collaborate with team members to clarify project requirements and resolve issues. • Provide advice or solutions in technical areas for less experienced machinists. • Collaborate with Project Managers to calculate time and material costs for quoting purposes. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiencies for machining and tooling selection through research and development. • Assist with cleaning and preventative maintenance of machines, tools, and workstations. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. • Wear PPE as required. • Other duties as assigned. Technical Competencies • Proficient knowledge of print reading. • Proficient knowledge of CNC machining procedures, high tolerance machining, and geometric dimensioning. • Proficient knowledge of 2D and 3D programming. • Basic knowledge of lathe concepts; proficient knowledge required if operating lathe consistently. • Proficient knowledge of material properties. • Proficient knowledge of custom fixturing techniques. • Proficient knowledge of shop mechanics, mathematics, and measurement. • Proficient knowledge of commonly used hand and power tools. • Basic knowledge of the ISO 9001 standards. • Proficient computer literacy, including Surfcam and/or MasterCAM, and ERP. Education & Professional Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • 2-year Machining Degree preferred. • 2+ years of equivalent machining and programming experience in a related industry required. Physical Requirements/Work Environment • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various sizes. • Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally throughout shift. • Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs. moderately throughout workday, occasionally 50+ lbs. with a team lift. • Ability to focus vision with or without visual aids. • Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme, ear protection required and provided. • Work environment exposures include fumes or airborne particles (PPE available upon request) and moving mechanical parts and vibration.
