Lathe Machinist III - All Shifts

Key Obsessions: • Setup and operate CNC Lathe, or other equipment to effectively machine parts to required specifications • Perform complex machining operations; with understanding of assembly fits and precision tolerancing • Ability to modify machining code generated from CAD software to better utilize equipment’s capabilities • Create or modify G&M code to enable progressive machining of complete parts in CNC Lathes • Maintain part quality by verifying part to print, observing machining operation to detect malfunctions and need for sharpening or replacing worn tools • Change tooling, fixtures or jigs as needed to produce part; set up or adjust machine tool parameters as needed Minimum Requirements: • Minimum High School diploma, Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred plus 1 year machinist experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience • Ability to read CAD drawings and blueprints • Demonstrated ability to set up and operate CNC equipment • Ability to read and understand the proper use of measuring instrument • Experience with fabrication and routine CNC machinery maintenance • Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. Machinist (Router) - Weekend Shift

JOB SUMMARY: The Machinist position requires a technical degree in Machine Tool Technology and some work experience including an internship or equivalent. Under direct supervision, operates more than one type of machine tool such as mills, drill presses, lathes etc., on machining operations with a low to moderate degree of difficulty in support of production operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant's heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement). • Receive specific machining instructions from blueprints and machine drawings. • Read and interpret blueprints and part drawings and machine to specifications • Familiar with sending and receiving programs to and from network • Perform as many second operations as possible, stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle time. • Maintain work area in accordance to 5S standards. • Check machine parts to ensure that they meet proper size, shape or tolerance specs. • Perform routine maintenance. • Uses micrometers and other measuring tools and devices to assure tolerances are held. • Set up, operate, and program a broad range of production work involving close tolerances and set ups that are exacting utilizing both vice work and fixturing techniques that are somewhat involved and have a low to moderate degree of difficulty. • Must demonstrate a willingness to continue expanding his/her skills by pursuing training and cross training in all areas of the Machine Shop as availability of equipment allows. • Must demonstrate the flexibility to operate any equipment or perform any operations to maintain part throughput according to priority and due dates within the assigned cell. • Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures. The base pay range for this role is $20.50 to $25.00 per hour with an added shift differential of 15%; resulting in an adjusted wage of $23.58 to $28.75 per hour.
