CNC Programmer and Operator

Company: Tavian – tavianworkers.com Overview Tavian is a new startup in manufacturing, and we’re building a team of highly skilled and motivated tradesmen. Openings begin in 2 months, and this is your chance to get in on the ground floor. We’re looking for skilled factory professionals: CNC programmers, machinists, toolmakers, mold makers, EDM operators, lathe operators, laser operators, and other experienced trades. At Tavian, you’ll be paid by the piece, not by the hour — meaning higher earnings for high performers. Our schedule is built around downtime in other industries, giving you flexibility while keeping production strong. If you’ve ever thought about starting your own business in manufacturing, this is a path toward it. As independent contractors, our team members earn more, manage their own output, and work to higher standards than typical shops. What You’ll Do • Program and operate CNC, EDM, lathes, mills, lasers, or other precision machinery. • Perform setups, tooling selection, and quality checks with accuracy and accountability. • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files. • Troubleshoot production issues and deliver high-quality parts on time. • Uphold Tavian’s higher standard of precision, safety, and efficiency. What We’re Looking For • Experience in skilled factory trades (CNC, EDM, toolmaking, lasers, mold making, machining, etc.). • Strong technical ability with hands-on knowledge of precision tools and measuring instruments. • Ability to work independently and manage your own production pace. • High standards of craftsmanship — motivated by quality and efficiency. • Entrepreneurial mindset; interest in building your own path in manufacturing. Note: We will train the right people into new roles or onto new machines, but you must already have a strong baseline of skill and discipline to qualify. Compensation – How Tavian Pays Tavian’s system is designed to reward efficiency while guaranteeing fair pay for every part produced. • You are assigned a base hourly rate (what you would earn if you were hired full-time). • Each part has an expected production time, based on the average time it takes all workers to complete the part, including every step needed. • You are paid your base rate multiplied by the expected time — not the time you personally take. Example 1: • Base rate: $26.50/hour • Part expected to take 2 hours • You complete it in 1 hour • You are paid for 2 full hours = $53.00 Example 2: • Two machines running two orders at the same time • Each order expected to take 2 hours (4 hours total) • You finish both in 2 hours • You are paid for 4 full hours Result: The faster and more skilled you are, the more you earn — your pay grows directly with your efficiency. Why Work with Tavian? • Higher Earnings: Pay-by-the-piece rewards skill and speed. • Flexible Scheduling: Work built around natural downtime. • Startup Growth: Opportunity to join early and shape the company’s future. • Independence with Support: Operate as an independent contractor with the option to grow into your own business. Call to Action We are only looking for the most skilled and motivated tradesmen — sub-par production will not be accepted. If you have proven trade experience and want to be part of a team that pays for performance, we want to hear from you. Submit your resume through Indeed and highlight your hands-on trade experience (machining, CNC, EDM, toolmaking, lasers, etc.). Applicants without clear trade experience will not be considered. Start Date: Approx. 2 months. Location: Work assignments vary — flexible opportunities available. Job Types: Temp-to-hire, Contract Pay: $26.50 - $62.30 per hour Expected hours: 10 – 60 per week Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Professional development assistance Work Location: On the road
