Job Description Onin Staffing is hiring a Machinist in the Decatur, AL area! We’re looking for someone skilled in operating precision machine tools such as mills, grinders, and boring mills to fabricate, repair, and accurately shape metal parts according to engineering drawings. MANUAL LATHE / MACHINIST - ALABAMA

Willing to train individual who has the following knowledge: • Able to set up and operate conventional lathes/milling machines. • Familiar with 3 and 4 jaw chucks. • OD and ID threading • Able to read blueprints. • Able to use all types of micrometers, close tolerances and surface finishes. • Familiar with machining cold rolled steel, bronze, cast iron, aluminum and some heat-treated materials. • Other duties as assigned Responsibilities: • Retrieve job paperwork left in workstation bin for first order of the day. • Review detail of the job. • Review/receive Seal Sheet from dis-assembly for part. • Determine if print supplied or need to draw print for part. • Design part for job. • Process part on manual lathe machine. Manual Lathe Machinist

Please read carefully. We have had a lot of applications that do not meet the requirements. We are looking for a Manual Machinist. You must be able to run a manual lathe. You must be proficient with calipers, standard and metric. We prefer you have real world experience with these skills, the exception being just out of school. If you are just out of school you need to have completed the basic manual machinist courses in high school or college.
