We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS! Under limited supervision with detailed instructions, this position is responsible for running multi axis CNC machines to produce production parts or tooling. With some oversight, this position will be asked to set up moderately complex parts on multi-axis CNC machines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Run production to print and budget on multi-axis CNC machines. • Set up produce 1st piece on moderately complex parts with multi axis CNC machines. • Use standard measuring devises and techniques to ensure the quality of the parts. • Trouble shoot tooling and work holding issues during production runs. • Clean machine and work area. • Deburr parts • Perform gathering/building cutting tools, fixtures, and raw material. • After complete instructions, operates CNC or manual machines and inspect parts utilizing blue print dimensions and prescribed gages. • Monitor and verifies quality in accordance with GA procedures. • Prepares and saw cuts raw material. • May layout, fabricate, and assemble components. • Use MDI to create simple tool paths for fixturing and/or work holdings. • On occasions, help/train new machinist on machining principles and Company procedures. • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional experience may be substituted for formal education. • Must be customer focused and possess: • The ability to perform moderately complex set-ups and fabrication of machined parts. • Good knowledge of machining equipment including the ability to use judgment and safe practices. • Must have a good understanding of cutting tool wear, selection, and replacement. • Must be able to read standard G and M code for CNC machines. • Must have a working knowledge of GD&T. • Must have working knowledge of work coordinate systems and how they are used in CNC processes. • The ability to read and understand engineering blue prints and diagrams. • Good interpersonal skills and written communication skills to interface with employees and supervisors. • Basic computer skills. • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. • Flexibility to work extended hours as required.
