CNC Operator/Machinist

Job Summary We are seeking CNC Operators to work on our night shift! Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 5:00pm-3:30am. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge, experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers/calipers/gages, and experience in operating CNC machinery. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances. • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators. • Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping. • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards. • Start machines or equipment to begin production processes. • Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify operators of any malfunctions. • Remove products, machine attachments, or waste material from machines. • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists. • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. • Reads and interprets blueprints. • Performs daily and regular cleaning on CNC machinery. • Assists in the organization of the machine shop work environment. • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures. • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions. • Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management. • Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input. • Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant. • Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills. • Other job duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: • High School Diploma or GED is required. • Less than one-year related experience and /or training is required. • Technical degree in Machine Technology or related field preferred. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Machinist’s Mates (MM) are responsible for operating and maintaining ship propulsion machinery, auxiliary equipment and outside machinery.
