Experienced CNC Machinist, Turning

CNC Machinist – Turning Focused, secondary Milling (Position) TRD is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic individual to join our in-house machine shop team. This is a small shop atmosphere where collaboration is the key to success and the ability to mentor and train is necessary. Position Responsibilities: • Produce machined parts by operating (CNC) turning centers and vertical machining centers • Ability to program Fanuc, HAAS, Okuma and Mazak programming based turning centers • Maintain quality and safety standards • Record keeping • Equipment and supply maintenance • Successful processing of individual R&D related parts and small run quantity items Position Duties: • Program, set-up and operate lathes and mill by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, stops, and following instructions closely • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to project, and drawing tolerance standards. • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, turning, boring, threading and knurling operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; notifying supervisor of suspected issues; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions. • Document inspection & traceability by completing production and quality logs. • Cross train on various machine shop equipment including, but not limited to, CNC saw, CNC vertical mill, Wire EDM, Fiber laser etc. • Provide hands-on training and guidance to junior machinists on setup, tooling, and CNC operation Skills & Qualifications: • Experience in the CNC machining industry with a primary focus on turning, and secondary focus on milling • Ability to program, setup and operate turning centers, (required) • Ability to program, setup and operate a vertical machining center, (desired) • Proficient in the use of inspection equipment and tools such as calipers, micrometers, verniers, and gauges. • Advanced understanding of Fanuc, HAAS G & M Code programs, Mazak Conversational, and Okuma programs is a must • Ability to work independently as well as in a team • Support skill development of entry-level machinists through coaching and real-time feedback. • Ability to share ideas and work collaboratively within a team • Strong interpersonal skills • Strong interpretive, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for detail • Basic workplace computer experience desired Employment at Turbines R&D Turbines R&D offers a complete and highly attractive benefits package to qualified individuals including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K with employer contributions, life insurance, and paid vacation/holidays. Machine Operator I

Job Summary: Performs inspection and packaging of plastic parts. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Must be able to run 3 IM machines independently after a 5 day training period. • Processes manufactured parts per job instructions, pack verified amounts, and label appropriately. • Constructs boxes for packing at assigned machine. • Visually inspects parts for defects as noted on QPM and sample boards to ensure quality parts are being packed in compliance with specified requirements. • May cut off runners with gate cutters and inspect such things as springs or screws to ensure finished part meets specifications. • Enters information on log sheets such as in-process books every two hours as quality checks are made to ensure product consistency and conformity to quality standards. • Understands production records and is able to keep accurate counts of accepted, rejected and scrapped product as noted on packing logs. • Lifts and carries boxes (up to 50 lbs.) to pallets for removal to shipping or storage. On occasion may use pallet jack to move pallets of boxes or totes. • Responsible for keeping the assigned work area well organized, clean and neat • Alerts shift supervisor of machine malfunction or scrap quantity issues. • Maintains effective working relationships with other coworkers • Additional duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to work with coworkers in a team environment. • Ability to perform basic math calculations. • Ability to maintain and understand records and data, as well as complete required documentation. • Ability to use two and four wheeled hand trucks, pallet jacks. • Successful Completion of "Fundamentals of Injection Molding" Training. • Ability to communicate, report, and work with others. • Ability to complete all needed TPM's. • Continuous mental and visual attention to production of quality products. • English language proficiency to include verbal and written communication. • Ability to work overtime as required. • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings. Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or GED • 0 – 6 months manufacturing experience Physical Requirements: • Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.). • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. • Requires manual dexterity. • Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment. • Frequently moves from waist level to floor level. 1st Shift - 7:30 am - 4:00 pm 2nd Shift- 3:30 pm - 12:00 am Shift Differential $2.50/per hour 3rd Shift - 11:30 pm - 8:00 am Shift Differential $2.00/per hour
